Archival Pigment Prints
Pigment prints are at the highest level, prints made from a high quality digital file by applying very fine droplets of ink (pigment) onto paper.
We use pigment based inks for all of our fine art printing because of their improved longevity and larger range of colors.
In this case, the pigment will not be broken apart by absorption and then intertwined into fibers, fading or shifting colours.
This is ideal for the longevity needed in image archiving.
We have a selected range of papers that enhance the images we are printing. We are extremely conscious of the environment and use eco-friendly papers wherever possible. On occasion, we will take liberties to print on other choices not listed.
Hahnemuhle Bamboo Fine Art is an eco-friendly paper that is a natural white smooth quality with subtle warm tones. It has a matte finish and uses 10% cotton fibres and 90% bamboo fibres in its production.
Hahnemuhle Sugar Cane Fine Art is an eco-friendly paper that is textured and has a luxurious feel. It has whiter tones than the Bamboo, which allows for the colours to be more vivid without looking artificial. It has a matte finish and uses 25% cotton fibres and 75% sugar cane fibres in its production.
Ilford Gallery Smooth Gloss is my choice for printing where I need to sandwich the print between plexy glass and dibond for a contemporary clean look to be achieved. The paper has a smooth finish with a wider colour gamut (range) and a promise to deliver a true look of old school prints.
